The 6’ 5” 195 pound multi-sport athlete from Gardner, KS signed a letter-of-intent to play football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers in February of this year and then was drafted as the fifth overall pick in the June amateur draft by the Kansas City Royals.
This placed him the enviable position of choosing between playing quarterback for a premiere college program (while also being a center fielder for the Huskers’ baseball team) or getting a 7 figure signing bonus from a struggling baseball franchise that has a stable of promising young stars.
